Palos Verdes Estates

Malaga Cove Plaza Parking Study: a central hub for project updates, briefing materials, and draft recommendations for the City of Palos Verdes Estates.

A realistic, professional photograph of a well-maintained urban parking lot, with clearly marked parking spaces, a few parked cars, mature trees, pedestrian paths, and surrounding buildings softly visible in the background. Daylight, clean composition, suitable for an urban planning and community development website.

Focus

Malaga Cove Plaza is a neighborhood-serving district of restaurants, shops, offices, and personal services. Because of its historic development pattern, most businesses have little or no on-site parking and depend on a limited supply of public parking. During peak hours, weekends, holidays, and special events, demand can outpace supply. This affects customer convenience, traffic circulation, nearby residential streets, and the Plaza’s ability to attract new businesses.

STUDENT PLANNERS ARE STUDYING PARKING SUPPLY AND DEMAND IN MALAGA COVE PLAZA. WE COLLECT PARKING DATA, HEAR FROM SHOP OWNERS AND EMPLOYEES, AND DEVELOP PRACTICAL SHORT- AND LONG-TERM RECOMMENDATIONS THAT SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES WHILE PRESERVING THE PLAZA’S HISTORIC CHARACTER.
