About the Lab

Student planners working as consulting teams for real clients. We turn classroom learning into research, plans, and recommendations that cities can put to use.

A Polytechnic Experience (PolyX) course at Cal Poly Pomona.

A detailed tabletop scene of community development materials for La Verne: a bound report with a bold, abstract cover graphic instead of text, a folded corridor improvement map marked with colored corridors and nodes, and a transparent tracing overlay with sketchy street adjustments. A small 3D-printed block model of a neighborhood intersection sits on a gray cutting mat. Soft overhead studio lighting combines with faint daylight from the side, producing mild, precise shadows and a neutral, professional atmosphere. Photographic realism, shot from directly above, emphasizes clarity and organization, illustrating methodical urban planning work in progress.
